STRATI

Date

Fall 2025

Location

Rome, Italy

Strati investigates the Ponte Rotto architecture as an infrastructural and cultural mediator along the Tiber River in Rome. Centered on the remains of the ancient Pons Aemilius, the proposal reimagines the fractured bridge as a contemporary public intervention that engages history, water, and movement. Rather than reconstructing the bridge as a singular object, the project treats Ponte Rotto as a layered condition—simultaneously ruin, river crossing, and urban threshold—using light structural systems to preserve visual continuity with the historic fabric while introducing new modes of occupation.
